Cold Beer Outlawed?

Missouri legislator:

Sen. Bill Alter introduced a bill that would keep grocery and convenience from selling beer colder than 60 degrees. He said his goal is to cut down on drunken driving.

Wow! I don't think this is the way to curb drunk driving. The law ought to be because cold beer may destroy the taste of stronger better beer.

I don't have an update on this - I know it's old news.

I love when we legislate against "causes" of bad behavior.

Don't want more drinking and driving? Lay the hammer down on those who are caught in the driver's seat with an open container and beer on their breath. Nah, I can't just be allowed to run out and get a couple cold cases because the Super Bowl is on. Thanks.

This one had me laughing out loud. Everyone knows that alcoholics that are so desperate for a drink that they'd risk drinking and driving would definitely refuse a beer that was only, say, 50 degrees cold.

No other problems going on in Missouri, huh? That Senator should get out more often.
